1. Skin boosters: These contain not only hyaluronic acid but also other actives like polynucleotides and glutathione. Unlike fillers, they do not add volume and do not help in lifting or contouring the face. Instead, these boosters are meant to improve skin quality, hydration and texture. Usually the results last for 6 months to a year depending on the particular booster used.  (Photo by Unsplash)

2. Fillers: There is a misconception that fillers always result in a heavy, bloated, overfilled look. This is certainly not the case. Fillers are basically gels containing hyaluronic acid in various different concentrations and viscosities depending on the particular product used. Different types of fillers are used for different areas of the face as each area has its own unique anatomy. Enhancing and lifting fillers are available in the market which focus on lifting sagging skin rather than adding any volume. When administered by a skilled, ethical injector with probably knowledge of facial anatomy and aesthetics, dermal fillers give beautiful, natural results. (Photo by Lucas Guimarães Bueno)

3. Botox: Botulinum toxin is available as various brand names such as Xeomin, Botox, Dysport. This toxin basically helps in neuromodulation which means that it relaxes the muscles of facial expression by temporarily inhibiting the release of neurotransmitters at the junction between nerve and muscle. It is safe and effective and has been around for many years. It doesn't cause muscle paralysis but is actually injected in a strategic manner to relax the muscles of facial expression and reduce the appearance of dynamic wrinkles. Botulinum toxin does not worsen the signs of ageing and the trend now is to use a minimal amount of units (baby botox) to give a natural and fresh appearance. Botulinum toxin also has a number of therapeutic benefits which most people are unaware of. It can be used effectively to treat migraine, excessive sweating, TMJ dysfunction, muscle spasms, and vocal cord palsy. (Photo by Shutterstock)
